GEA Closed Circuit Coolers provide cooling for water-driven power generation applications. Here for example a dam has retained a large volume of water creating potential and pressure energy. The flow of water drives a turbine or a water wheel, whereby the energy is transformed into rotary motion with high torque. The torque is transmitted into a generator whether directly or via a system drive.
This generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy and waste heat that is cooled by our closed circuit hydrogen coolers.

Landfill or digester gas collection (sour or dirty gases) tend to damage conventional charge air coolers material. Copper and aluminium can be quickly damaged if sour gas is not purified, adding a costly step in the process. GEA Maschinenkühltechnik charge air coolers can be fabricated from materials like high-class stainless steel or with protective coatings.
Therefore the durability, corrosion resistance and trouble free service life can be increased dramatically in "dirty gas" applications.
